FDI attraction in VN remains high amid crisis context

In the first half of 2009, foreign investors have registered US $8.87 billion in Việt Nam, of which US $4 billion have been disbursed.

          
                                  US $1.46 billion of FDI flow in real estates

In the first six months, 306 FDI projects have been licensed, with the total registered capital of US $4.7 billion, equivalent to the whole-year figure of 2005.

Accommodation and catering services continue to lure foreign investors, sucking nearly US $4.5 billion in the registered capital.

Processing and manufacturing industries have surpassed real estates to become the second largest business field in the first half, with the registered capital of US $1.56 billion.

About US $1.46 billion have flowed into real estates.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Department estimated that Việt Nam can receive US $20 billion of investment capital this year and US $8 billion will be disbursed.
